Right into the deep end aye? Yep well according to the Udemy course I am doing; this the best first step. This is my first time at really studying anatomy and by god was it scary.
Breaking the proportions into head sizes made it a lot easier though. As you can see from the titties this was the size for females (7 heads). When I showed my brother he was like it looks kind of freaky aha. I explained this was due to the proportions in Manga being stylised and not realistic. So yeah that was my first figure.
The instructor recommends practicing these proportions for an hour a week both male and female until I have memorised them completely. Once I can remember the lines for crotch, ribs and knee’s I should be sweet. Also drawing tits is really difficult, I give credit to Hentai artists!
With my new found confidence I went straight in to copying some references from the One Punch Man manga (1st book). Only for my confidence to be shattered immediately! Although I have not had any time practicing hair yet so Saitama is actually really good to practice with right now!
My goal for the rest of the week is to practice more body proportions I have a larger Sakura sketch book arriving today so I can fit more onto a page.
Anyway that’s a summary of my first day. I will probably do weekly updates rather than daily, unfortunately I have a day job T_T
